Thoughts of Spring ~ Blog Party

I saw this virtual blog party out there and just had to participate (I'm a Party Animal!).  Plus, I've been too sick to do anything exciting lately so I don't have much to blog about.  I've already found some pretty interesting blogs to start following through this effort.  So first, it looks like I'm supposed to answer some questions:

How would people describe your personality? (If they could only use ONE word.) Are they right?
Random.  My mood varies day by day and you never know what you're going to get with me.  All in all, I try to stay pretty positive and happy though.

What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life?
I can't really narrow it down.  I get pretty Star Struck upon seeing any celebrity, even if I don't really know who they are.  Hubby pointed out Lionel Richie when we were in New York and I was super pumped!  I couldn't tell you one song he sings...I was just so excited to see someone famous!  I would be pretty tickled to spot Brad Pitt because he's just a beautiful man.

Who is your favorite blogger? Why?
I would have to say Chris at Serendipitous is my favorite blogger.  She always has something witty to say or beautiful photography to show off.  I've been following her since my very beginning here.

What is your comfort food/drink?
My comfort drink is definitely hot tea.  When it comes to food, I'm definitely a chocoholic.  It's a serious addiction, one I am trying desperately to break.

Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself.
I can tell if the television is on or off, even if it is muted, just by listening.  I can hear the high frequency sound, even if I'm not in the same room.  I consider it a super power.  My own husband is not a believer of my super power and has tested me many times.  I have always passed with flying colors.  It's a gift.  Now, if I could just figure out how to use this gift to save the world...

Movies: Action, Drama, Romantic Comedy, Documentary, Comedy? What are your favorite genres?
I'm definitely a comedy fan, romantic comedy to be specific.  I've even got Hubby hooked on Sandra Bullock movies (although that might be for a slightly different reason...I think he loves her.)

Books: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Romance, Biographies, True Stories, Self-Help, Devotional/Study? What are your favorite types of reading material?
I'm a fiction reader.  Long, detailed novels a few inches thick are my material of choice.  I wait with anticipation for new Maeve Binchy novels to be released.

Music: Funk, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Film Score, Blues, Classic Rock, Crooner, Alternative, Heavy Metal, Techno? What are your favorite types?
I love music.  What I listen to varies depending on my mood each day.  Mostly I choose jazz, gospel, or pop.

If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money?
Pay my tithes, of course!  After that, I would pay off all my debt.  Then I'd  have to make a list.  Sorry, I'm boring like that.

Name one weakness of yours (confession is good for the soul).
Again, I must say chocolate.

If you could live anywhere at all (and take all your loved ones with you), where would you go?
Well, that's the only way I would ever move away...to take all my loved ones with me.  If I were the one to choose, I think I would pick central California.  I'm not a fan of extreme temperatures either way.  So to have weather that fluctuates just a few degrees all year, I think I would be really happy.  And a beach close by.  Yep, that would definitely be a seller.

Strange Talent? Can you juggle basketballs, put your legs behind your head or perform some other strange feat?
I already discussed my outstanding skill a few questions earlier.  It's the TV thing.  I know you're still in awe by it.

What’s something you consider yourself to be good at? (Don’t worry, it’s not bragging, it’s acknowledging a God given gift).
Since I've already mentioned the TV thing twice...
I'm a really good cook.  It's not bragging, it's a fact.  Although I probably bake better than I cook.  I've posted tons of recipes here on my blog...check them out!

What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of?
I love smells.  My absolute favorite is my freshly-showered Hubby.  He knows how to wear cologne, ya'll!  Mmm...he's scrumptious!  Freshly cut grass and newborn babies lathered up with Baby Magic would rate second and third.

What is your greatest fear or strange phobia?
The uneventful death of one of my family members is something I fear regularly.  In fact, I was once almost obsessed by it.  I had to learn to turn my fears over to God and place all my worries in His hands.  It helped tremendously.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My four children

What are your favorite animals?
Don't think less of me but I am not an animal lover.  I don't like pets, I don't like touching animals, and I will never allow one to live in my home that I don't know about.  Animals belong outside.

Are you a hopeless romantic?
Definitely!  That's why I answered the question "definitely" and not just plain old "yes."

I'm right there with you on the chocolate thing...and the super TV power thing too! My husband has it as well, though, so not as much fun in our house. Your kiddos are gorgeous!

I share your super power of super tv hearing. Its driven me nuts for years!

Also you deepest fear is something we both have in common. I've had to go to God a lot myself on that one.

Hi! Enjoyed reading your blog party answers.

When I'm pregnant I become extremely fearful/obsessed with something bad happening to on of my loved ones. It's really bad. Needless to say that I pray for my family/friends a lot during pregnancy! :-)

You have a very elegant blog. Thanks for stopping by mine. :-)
Blessings!
Kris

Hey there fellow partier! I've had fun reading your answers. I too have bionic hearing, which causes my hubby to question my honesty about things I hear sometimes - especially since his is not so hot. :) Have fun getting to know some new blog peeps. I'm trying to see if I can at least quickly visit everyone, but it takes a lot of time! Lisa

I liked what you said about being star struck by any celebrity even if you do not know who they are. That has happened to me a couple times while in Peru, once some famous Latin singer was on the same flight whom I did not know but had my photo with along with my sisters-in-law because they knew him. It was still fun!
I enjoyed your post.

Hello from a fellow blog partier! Hot tea? Yes! Except for I don't limit it to comfort, I drink it at least three times a day - as does the rest of my family.(Blame the Irish & English roots :))Anything stressful comes along though and we often say, "first, let's have tea."

Well, you'd be surprised how many people in this blog party DON'T like animals! I don't much either really. BUT, I do like animals that give me something (eggs, milk, etc) and I have grown to totally love my Golden Retriever Truman. He is one loyal and amazing dog.

So you have high frequency ears huh? Do some sounds irritate you then?

I hope you're enjoying the party. Looks like you've had a lot of visitors! YAY!

I enjoyed stopping by to read about you.
Thanks for the invite. :)
