Fatty Update

I am so thankful for those of you who are willing to jump on the Fat Wagon with me!  (Or maybe we're supposed to be jumping off the Fat Wagon???)  It makes it less horrible if someone is doing it with you.  I'm holding you guys accountable so you'd better not back out on me!

Let me first address one comment I received advising me to be careful.  I really appreciate the concern!  Nope, I'm nowhere close to an even hundred, I just thought that number would make an easy target weight without actually sharing my true weight (I won't even admit it to my husband).  If I hit my target weight, I would still be 7 lbs. heavier than I was at my wedding, and I wasn't even very skinny then.  I was truly skinny one time in life and I weighed 7 lbs. less then than I did at my wedding.  So, I'm far from being too skinny.  I just want to be thin.

Also, I understand what you mean about seeing a doctor.  Thin people develop tumors and whatnot that give them these huge bulges.  Mine is due to overeating.  It's as simple as that.  Why do Cheetos have to taste so good when they're so bad for you???

So here's what we're going to do.  Go ahead and set your target weight at 100.  If you want to lose 20 lbs., say that you weigh 120 now.  If you only need to lose 5, you weigh 105 right now.  Does that make sense?  If that's too confusing and you want to share your actual weight, more power to ya!  Or if you just want to record pounds lost, that's fine too (-6, etc.).

You can lose weight in whatever way works for you.  I think Weight Watchers has a great plan.  I am so against cabbage soup diets, applesauce diets, Adkins, and other crazy fads.  I believe in eating low fat, healthy foods.  I'm not against artificial sweeteners, but I don't use them in excess.  What works best for me is to eat a low fat breakfast, a low fat lunch, a reasonable dinner (my family won't eat diet food and I'm not cooking two separate dinners), and very limited snacks.  Also, I only drink tea in moderation.  If you want to see the rules I set up for myself, you can read this old post.

Weekly (or so), I'm going to ask you to report your weight change for that week.  I'm not setting a time goal but you're welcome to.  I would just like to get this weight off before Christmas.  (I will not be dieting Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day!)

Please comment with your starting "weights" here.  I'm 112.  See you soon, skinny ladies!

You're so clever to come up with this system. I'm 125. I just received my first month worth of nutri-system food yesterday. I did it for one month last Dec and lost 12 lbs in one month. So I know it works. I'll be thrilled if I can get rid of 15 by Christmas but the real goal is 25!

I love that you knew my comment was written out of concern. A dear friend of mine who was an RN tried to diet away her ovarian cancer. That didn't work so well. And Cheetos, the crunchy ones are my favorite, right after dove chocolate.

That being said, I am 130, but my weight loss doctor says that I'm at 125. I have been at this for a year and have already lost 50 pounds, so I expect to be slower at this than you. I don't fool myself that this is going to happen before Christmas, but I would like it to happen before I need to buy a new bathing suit. I have been very thin before, in fact I was anorexic until I was in my 30's and insulin resistance hit hard.

My excitement for today for today is that I tried on a pair of jeans and have gone down another size.

Let me know when to report in.

I am 160. I hate it and wish I never let myself get this way! Good luck to all of you!

Good luck ladies.... and I not doing that. But I love that you are. I've been working out for, well... this is my 3RD month, and I've only lost 7 pounds. I have adjusted my diet, but obviously not enough. I also need to get my thyroid rechecked. I am not giving up hope, and will keep you updated, but lets just say... I have much loftier goals than a mere... 60. :(

Well Cory, I started at 180. And I will admit that I couldn't have done it on my own. I had to get medical help to achieve what I have. Seven pounds in 3 months is great. Keep it up. You don't want to lose like they do on the biggest loser. They all have to get skin surgery after they lose weight that fast. Give yourself time to lose weight and your skin will shrink with you.

Not sure how I totally missed this post. :( I'm so behind in reading ANYTHING these days!

I have a little ticker at the top of my toolbar, and my weekly (or every few weekly) satisfaction comes from updating it. I weigh in on Mondays and it's a great way to start my week! (Although twice, it's been a bad way.)

I am more than halfway to my goal...when I am finished, I will have lost 73 lbs on WW and 100 since the day I had Maggie!! Only 28 lbs to go! :)

Good luck to you!!! :)
